The House of Gin Festival is coming to Winchester on Saturday 27th May at the Guild Hall in association with Winchester Distillery and Twisted Nose Gin and Fentimans and East Imperial tonic & mixers.

The festival will have three Gin bars showcasing a wide selection of Small Batch and Award Winning Gins. We will also have the Copperhead Gin and De Borgen Cocktail Bar.

There will be six or more producers showcasing Gins at the event. All Gin producers will give you a master class on how their Gin is distilled, offer tastings and an opportunity to purchase bottles at a discounted rate.

We will also have a large selection of tonics including East Imperial, Fentimans and Lamb & Watt.

Take your pick from the following Bars -

‘The Navy Strength Gin Bar’

All Gins on this bar are bottled at100 proof (57.15%) Navy Strength Gin evolved from the idea of ‘Proof Spirits’ and dates back to the 18th Century when British sailors would go to sea with rations of Rum / Gin. To ensure they weren’t given watered down Rum / Gin they would prove by dousing gunpowder in it, if it ignited the spirit was 100 proof if it didn’t it was watered down.

‘The House Gin Bar’

This Gin bar will contain Gin from the UK and Europe and from our wonderful producers attending the festival. these will mostly be classic London Dry Gins with very unique botanicals that bring this liquid to life.

‘The Genèver and American Gin Bar’

This bar will contain the original Genève’s from Holland and Gins from the U.S.A. The original Genever was almost like a bourbon hence De Borgens nickname " The Dutch bourbon" this can be mixed with Ginger Ale or even Cola.

‘Copperhead & De Borgen Cocktail Bar’

Copperhead Gin and De Borgen Genèver will be offering the very best Gin / Genèver cocktails, think Negroni and other classic Gin cocktails.

And we also cater for people that are new to Gin...

'The Rum 66 Premium Spirit Bar'

If you can't find your perfect Gin, the Premium Spirit Bar has a range of Vodka, Rum, Tequila and Mezcal.

 'Local Guest Brewer'

 Unity Brewing Co. from Southampton.

At the heart of Unity is a spirit of collectivism, where people come first (besides beer of course).

Unity believe in the collaborative culture that the beer industry is known for, and will be working with other breweries, organisations and customers alike as part of their mission to not only make delicious, interesting beer, but also to have an awesome time doing it.

Their ambition is to keep developing Unity and their beers while always putting quality before quantity, and people before profit.

There will also be live entertainment from the amazing FB Pocket Orchestra.

The FBPO performances typically comprise a range of jazz, classical, country and blues; some delivered as reproductions of original recordings, others as their own unique arrangements.

FBPO all play auxiliary instruments and have developed a diverse palette of sonic landscapes that hint at New Orleans, Tea Dances, Paris Cafés, Smokey Nightclubs, Hotel Foyers, Garden Parties etc NOT TO BE MISSED!
